Nice pistol; RHS photo indicates one rebuild at Springfield Arsenal and one at Anniston Army Depot.

Thank you for sharing these photos. I have been pondering submitting an application for the upcoming round of CMP sales. That is an attractive piece of history you got there. As of this moment, I'm leaning towards submitting the paperwork when the new round of sales opens up next month. My current 1911s are all from 1991 and and newer.
i sold all my handguns. . . . . . . . . . except for the 1911 style pistols in .45 ACP.
Nice acquisition, it's original the way it is don't change a thing.
To all the Forum members:
WISHING EVERYONE THE BEST FOR THE COMING YEAR!
Originality can't be restored, so put "originality" at the top of a priority list. If JMB didn't put it on the 1911 you don't need it.

OK, you inspired me, Ray C. Today, the first day of round 2 sales, I mailed in my packet. We'll see what happens.

Here is some advice for those that are sending in packets or those considering doing so. CMP has an option for just about everyone. Often there is a choice of what grade you would find acceptable budget wise.
If it is within your budget, I would highly recommend the auction option. With the auction pistols, you can look at written report on the specific pistol and numerous reasonably pictures of the specific pistol you choose to bid on. Typically there are 7 pistols on the auction site each week. You will most likely have your choice of either a Remington Rand, Colt, Ithaca and Union Switch & Signal. You will easily be able to determine if the frame, slide and most of the external visible parts are from the same company. I would recommend you to go take a look at the current auctions just to see for yourself.

I was part of the first round. Received a nice rebuilt RR frame/slide born June 1945. Rebuilt in Anniston May 1976. Whereabouts in between unknown at this time. Submitted initial paperwork sept 8 2018. Received the RGN 2/4/19 and call I’d been selected May 21 2019. Had the pistol at my FFL May 30 2019. Seems like a million years ago! Was worth the wait. All grades were available at the time and I picked service grade. When this was first announced they anticipated 100,000 applicants would be involved. Believe actual numbers were way less. Last count on CMP forum showed they were shipping RGN in mid 18,000.

Looks like you got a good one. Hope it shoots as good as it looks.
To update on Bob n's post kinda, sent in a FOIA request to the Corps on my '78 rebuild from Albany,Ga. The answer was 'nothing'.. Going to try the Army next. No cost involved but I'm wondering if Covid is altering the answers we will receive (?). If the Corps did a rebuild, there had to be something there (?).
