    Home-made shooting rest

I have a nifty tool I made this afternoon while waiting on the mailman. Sort of a shooting rest for pistols (or rifles) with rails, using a spare QR scope ring and my shooting tripod. Suppose anyone would want to see the pictures? If so, where?Rail rest 1.jpg

Just how does this rig handle recoil? Don't see a provision for that in the photo.

Quite well, actually. I'm also two-hand gripping, learning this particular trigger's break/reset characteristics, along with steadying and sight adjustment.
I'm not relying on the rest as I would bags or a Caldwell; I'm only using the tripod as a sort of quick reacquisition aid. Works great.
As a training aid, I give it two thumbs up.
