Would a "Model of 1911 U.S. Navy" marked slide be original/correct for 1911 serial number 35xxx?
Thanks.
FWIK the US Navy ordered the following M1911's that were marked "US NAVY":
(1912) ...501-1000, 1501-2000, 2501-3500, 4501-5500, 6501-7500, 8501-9500, 10501-11500, 12501-13500
(1913)... 38001-43800, 43801-44000
(1914)... 95976-97550
(1915)... 109501-110000
Please take it with a pinch of salt though, the real experts will soon chime in.
Regards.
Originality can't be restored, so put "originality" at the top of a priority list. If JMB didn't put it on the 1911 you don't need it.
Welcome to the forum. 35xxx indicates Army shipment.
