    Greetings from California...yeah...

    Greetings All,

Dad is a retired PD, he acquired a 1911 during his time from a lady who wanted to get rid of her husbands old gun. He bought it for a pittance I dare not mention for the tears it will bring...$100. With that he got an early 1920's Samurai sword, more of a presetation piece than fighting stock. Anyway...he later took said 1911 and modified it with a Para Ordnance wide body kit and carried it for a number of years on the job. He gave it to me years back when they converted everyone to more modern tools. Being as I live in the state I do...I had to take it back to the stock 7 rd. mag. So I converted everything back to stock. I love the piece, and have put a few thousand rounds though it. In my searching I found that this may have been a valuable piece at some point. It has a PX-4 barrel in it, so no real value except the joy of holding in the hand. I'm here to lurk and learn. I usually spend my time middle managing, or breaking things I'm trying to make out of wood. Anyway...there's my intro and why I'm here.

Fellow CA prisoner here...your old Colt isn't worth a thing, but I would be happy to take it off your hands for the original $100.

    Welcome to the forum.

Your pistol 1939 production shipped to the Navy. Does the serial number under the firing pin stop match the serial number on the frame?
