    If the firing pin is removed, unless it's very tightly fitted the firing pin stop will fall out. The solution is to buy a cheap, generic firing pin on the Internet and grind down the tip.

    Then be certain tio keep track of which one is in the gun.

    Since all you're doing is feeding the first round in the mag and not actually shooting the pistol there's no need for the firing pin stop either. You can rack the slide to cock the hammer before removing those parts. Be sure not to drop the hammer until the parts are put back in otherwise the frame can be damaged.

    Completely agree but in this instance for this specific test it's unnecessary.

    Then be certain to keep track of which one is in the gun.
    That would be an unpleasant surprise.
