New Member / Ithaca M1911A1 History

Hello! First time posting, long time lurker. I recently picked up my first USGI M1911A1 from a local store here in NC for $1200. It appears to be all correct minus the previous owner who polished the barrel surface in the ejection port. I know some people have access to the Ithaca records and would like to know if they could assist me with the history of my M1911A1. It is Ithaca - serial # 1242914. Thank you in advance!

I believe your Ithaca was produced in very late '43 or early '44.
But there are more knowledgeable collectors who are in this forum that may have better information.
