I'm sure I posted photos of this Commander, well Combat Commander before. I'm curious to know how common or uncommon these rollmarks are:
Left side of slide: COMMANDER
Right side of slide: .38 SUPER

I have no idea; but yours is the first I’ve seen like that.

I assume this is a M1991A1, what model # I have no idea as we do not have the box.
I seem to recall seeing a similar one years ago, that had "GOVERNMENT" on the slide.

All the M1991A1 pistols I have seen have "M1991A1" on the left side of the slide.

IIRC it is CJ. I'll open the safe later as I cannot read the serial number from my pictures either.
Found a different picture CJ20XXX, CJ20218
Colt serial number look up: 1998 Commander
I posted a thread on the Colt forum with little input there, and like the comments here I do not recall seeing a lot of Colt's with these rollmarks, but seem to remember seeing one a Government Model with "GOVERNMENT MODEL" on the slide.

I have CJ4XXXX, which is an "04691" model Commander. It's one of my favorite guns. According to Colt's website mine was made in 2012. The markings are not at all like what's in your photos.

i sold all my handguns. . . . . . . . . . except for the 1911 style pistols in .45 ACP.
I don't recall seeing one with those roll marks and I usually stop and look at Commanders in gun stores and at gun shows. If I saw that one and the price was good I would probably buy it; mainly since it is a 38 Super. Also my hand is O.K. with the "duckbill" grip safety.
Bracketing that date I have a 2007 I bought new that year. It has SERIES 80 on the other side of the frame. It came with checkered double diamond stocks. The ones on it in this picture my one daughter bought for me off the Colt website back when Colt sold stuff there.
I also have a 1991 (according to a call to Colt) I found used in a gun store. I put some grips from the old Ajax Co. on it. It has COMMANDER MODEL on the other side of the frame.
And both of the above Commanders are in 45ACP.
