Interesting gun......
From GB > "A scarce original Union Switch and Signal 1911A1 .45 ACP pistol, made in 1943. All correct parts. A variation known as a "lunchbox gun" as it left the factory and was never issued or inspected by the ordinance sub inspector. As such, it is lacking the RCD inspection stamp on the frame. These are few and far between. Do not be concerned, this is not a fabricated US&S, it is the real deal. The finish has been cleaned/worn off. Though some original parko-lubrite finish still appears to be intact, but thin. The barrel (has been parkerized) is a correct HS marked high standard. The barrel bushing has the correct concentric machining circles showing, the main spring housing is the correct fine checkered type. has the correct fire blued, stamped trigger. The correct keyes fibre grips with reinforcing ribs and mold numbers are in excellent shape with no chips or cracks. Includes one period "L" marked magazine. The bore has light frost and nice rifling."
