Colt Python new production

I'm looking at buying a new production Colt Python - I had read somewhere that while some of the EARLY new production Pythons had issues (barrel crowning issues, loose side plate screws, etc.) those early guns had been repaired at Colt's expense (including shipping) and that production issues have been largely resolved. I also read that aside from the new production guns not having the same legendary deep bluing that the original Pythons have, the new guns were every bit as good if not better than the originals - we'll see. What I'm wondering about is when the production issues were resolved - I had read that guns before a certain serial number were suspect - after that certain serial number they were supposed to be OK - is anyone aware of the magic serial number? THANKS!

I'm a very small collector of COLT Pythons, unfortunately here in Italy the new productions have not arrived yet, and I've read conflicting opinions regarding the new Pythons, nevertheless recently I saw a video in which Ken Hackathorn talks pretty well about them.
I don't know what to think, apart from the fact that will be very difficult to beat the beauty of the blue finish of an old style Python.

"will be very difficult to beat the beauty of the blue finish of an old style Python" - for sure, those original deep blue Pythons were beautiful - but if ya like the stainless steel models (like I do), they're good-looking, too! So, being that I have no patience, I picked one up yesterday - used, but never fired - I'm happy with the price, compared to what I see them going for on some of the gun boards. I talked with Colt Customer Service cause I was concerned about the problems with some of the earlier, new production Pythons - the friendly guy at Colt told me that as long as the serial number was beyond 3500, I shouldn't have any problems - and mine is way beyond that.

Just got one last week at a LGS with a 6 inch barrel. It was $1.5K (plus tax). The gun store had gotten in several of them; all 6 inch. I am really impressed. What I have to compare it to is a 2003 Python Elite I bought new in 2004 for about $1.1K. It will be interesting to shoot them next to each other on the same day with the same ammo. I will also take along my S&W 686 with a 6 inch barrel also.
