I considered the possibility at the time but had no way to really know.
Last year I made a gun purchase on a credit card I use fairly regularly for online purchases and the occasional potentially less than top tier establishments it has a low limit and gets paid off every month. I probably hadn't used in 2-3 months at the time.
Anyway, the one and only time I have ever had a credit card transaction denied was then. I called the number on the card and was actually able to get right through to a real person, they told me the purchase had popped a fraud flag. I got them to approve the purchase and they told me they were going to send me a new card anyway.
