Finally the long awaited call from Anniston!

While at work on Friday my phone rang and the caller ID showed Anniston- RNG 14111 and I picked field grade. We will see what I end up with and report back here. Have to get to my FFL Monday to get a new FFL sent- it hadnít been so long since application the FFL supplied expired.
Hopefully by end of next week pistol will arrive.
Just hoping for an A1 as I have owned several WWI era guns over the years but never an A1.
Happy with anything functional really. Colt would be nice, but Ithaca or Rand ok too. Nice surprise.
My big clawson book has been pulled out and I started ready.
It wonít be a regular shooter for me but I do plan to shoot it a little, then possibly use it as a host for my 22 conversion kit

I'm glad for you, let us know about it when you'll receive it.

Anything with a FLGR is fluff, if JMB didn't put it on the 1911 you don't need it.
If you're going to collect be careful not to get drawn to a piece that is not original, make sure it is a very good example and buy the gun not the story.

Pics will have to wait but here are the fundamental details:
Late 44 or early 45 Remington Rand frame, with A 9/77 rebuild stamp
Post war colt replacement slide and barrel
    Even gray park
    Filed grade $950
