    Custom Kimber Royal

I have a a 5", Custom Kimber Royal Pistol, 45 ACP, Blue. Box/papers. Test fired and is accurate. Early production
SN 105xxx. Pistol has a purplish patina. I am the original owner. I am wondering if this pistol has any collector
interest/value? Many thanks for any info and have a great week end and week ahead. Sincerely, Duane

I have never heard of any Kimber 1911 having collector value. Only Colts (and the various other makes of genuine USGI M1911s and M1911A1s).

Early, pre Series-II Kimbers seem to be a bit more desirable than newer ones, as do those with a "Clackamas" address. And the Royal had a smaller run than most of those. I'm not sure this qualifies them as collectible, though.

    Anyway...

Check on-line auction sites for the same or a similar model, and see how much it sells for. Look for completed auctions, not somebody's idea of what it might sell for, after being listed and re-listed without takers for a year, or five.
Too many people miss the silver lining because they're expecting gold.

It’s probably worth more to a kimber-holic than a standard Custom.

Anything without a “II” after the model name on the slide will be worth more to the kimber fans.
