California's ammunition background check on hold

A federal judge in California has put a hold order on California's law requiring background checks to purchase ammunition. It took him 120 pages (!!!) to say it but, essentially, he said that the law doesn't stop bad guys from getting ammunition, while it does severely impact honest people who want to exercise their constitutional right to keep and bear arms

This isn't a permanent cancellation of the law, it's a hold while the state argues in court why the law should be reinstated. For now, Californians can again buy ammunition.

Likely there will be a line of customers outside the gun shop today, waiting to buy what's in stock and order what's not in inventory. Once the lines are gone I'll walk in and place an order.
    i sold all my handguns. . . . . . . . . . except for the 1911 style pistols in .45 ACP.

That didn't take long. The California attorney general appealed to the 9th Circuit Court, and the circuit court issued an emergency order putting the injunction on hold. Californians are back to needing background checks until further notice.
