    Short reach triggers

I have two Kimber 1911’s. One is a Ultra Carry ll with a 3” barrel in .45 and a Pro Carry ll in 9mm. My problem is that I have small hands with short finger reach. I am able to place my finger tip on the trigger and fire the weapon without a problem.
But the pistol is not in a straight line with my arm, it is slightly off center in the web of my thumb and trigger finger. I also have a Remington R1 with the short reach trigger which works fine in my hand.
so my question is where can I find a short reach trigger’s that will fit my Kimber’s?
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Brownells, Midway, Cylinder & Slide, Wilson, to name a few. I'm in the same boat as you.

Any short reach trigger should work with minor fitting, if any fitting is needed at all.

Most of the time, the only fitting required with be to remove a little material from the top and bottom of the trigger pad.

FWIW I have rather large hands and seem to shoot better with the short triggers.

I run the short Greiders on all my 1911s, have a Kimber Series 1 wearing one. They will require fitting and are not a drop in.

I wear a men's size 8 glove (small), the more I shoot and study this subject, the less concerned I am with the whole "straight line with my arm" issue.

I take any trigger reach advantage I can get, but I also realize, with my hand size, there are going to be a whole bunch of firearms I'll never be able to line up in a straight line with my forearm. I get my trigger finger where I need it to be on the trigger, and grip the gun as well as I can.

1911 and Browning HiPower out of the box have about the shortest trigger reach going. Glocks, Berettas and Sigs are made for kids with BIG hands

How does that effect muzzle flip? Are you able to maintain a solid grip?
