Another American Tactical (ATI) FX45 1911 GI .45 ACP Commander

This is the second ATI 1911 Pistol I purchased and it's the Commander version with several enhancements. It's basically similar to the 5" barrel version with a 4 1/4 in barrel and the addition of the commander hammer, high rise beavertail, flat mainspring housing and the period correct plastic grip panels. The thumb safety is similar to original Commander pistols and the sights are also military and without any white dots. I've modded mine with the addition of an arched mainspring housing, Klonimus magwell and Cocobolo full grip panels. This 1911 has fired about 200 rounds of 230 gr. FMJ without a hiccup and groups tight head shots out to 50 ft. off-hand.

Nice ATI Commander. SAM used to produce their commander models with white dot sights rear sight similar to Novak style. They are very reliable and accurate. I was so sorry I got rid of mine.
