    Hello,

I had joined this group many years ago then had a break in shooting and reloading for a number of years. Life changed and I got active again. I couldn't figure out my old login so had to join new again. I've already reaped the benefits by getting some performance issues answered today. I bought my Colt 70 Series back in the 80s. I didn't know much about it other than I really wanted one. I bought a used pistol that had been "worked on." The barrel had been throated and the ramp polished. I guess it was OK as it has had many 1000s of rounds through it since then. The sights had been changed too and the top of the slide in front of the rear sight was messed up. That was covered up by the new sight but now exposed because I had them changed again. My only ongoing concern is how long the collet bushing will last. The pistol shoots better than I do...

Belated welcome to our 1911 forum!
Originality can't be restored, so put "originality" at the top of a priority list. If JMB didn't put it on the 1911 you don't need it.
