Recommendations for a M1911 Government model and Compact IWB or OWB lined holster?

Anyone got a recommendation for a IWB or OWB holster with a lining inside that won't wear the pistols finish so much?

The act of drawing your pistol from whatever container you choose to carry your weapon in creates friction at the points of contact. Eventually those points will begin to show signs of wear. For that reason, it would be unreasonable to expect that your personal sidearm will remain in pristine condition forever. It does not matter whether your holster is lined or un-lined, as a lined holster simply delays the inevitable. If you carry and use your gun, the finish on your gun will wear. We prefer to call it “character”. A pristine gun in a pristine holster is not a tool that is being used.

They are all going to wear the finish on your gun. Some just faster than others. It hurts, at least it did for me, to get that first scratch, kind of like the first scratch on a new car, but I don't notice it now. Actually, I kind of hope to use my 1911 enough that it'll end up looking like Tiger McKee's.

There is Garrett Holsters with leather lined kydex https://www.giholsters.com

Horsehide is supposed to be smooth. Kramer offers all their holsters in horsehide https://www.kramerleather.com

I have been using Milt Sparks IWB holsters for over 20 years. Good to me. Good to the pistol.

I've been using the TTGunLeather "Slim XC" IWB holster for my Gov. Model 1911 and thought I don't believe it has a special protective lining, has not abused the blued finish of my sidearm. Absolutely love the holster!

I use a Mitch Rosen 5JR for my hard chromed .38 Super Auto pistol. Of course I am not really worried about wear anyway, but there doesn't seem to be any. On my Kimber TLE, there are a few extra polished spots at obvious wear points, but again, I don't intend to leave a particularly beautiful gun behind. Don't know how holster wear affects blued finishes.
