    1914 colt 1911 government C serial #

gentelman, i have a 1911 government model with a "C" serial number. the colt website tells me the gun was made in 1914. it has the "colt" mfg markings. would it be possible for one of you kind gentleman to guide me as how to properly value such a peice? i am no stranger to firearms, (53 years old, been around them all my life) but my knowledge as to valuing such a peice is lacking. I am assuming I might have to disassemble the pistol to see other markings? what else exactly should I be looking at? grips, finish type, clips????? Basically i just want to know exactly what I have. this was given to me by father who passed years ago. any help would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the forum. Close, clear photos of the pistol taken outside under light shade usually help most.
