    None of the parts are "interchangeable" except (maybe) the grips. All the fire control and both safeties need to be fitted by someone who knows how.

    While technically correct, this may be a bit misleading. Internal parts of the two guns may well be the same spec, but they are not "drop-in" or swappable. Which may well be the case between guns of the same brand of 1911 anyway.
    Too many people miss the silver lining because they're expecting gold.

    When I opened the box on my RIA M1911A1 Rock Standard FS in 45acp, I was so impressed that I ordered another one immediately.
    The only things that I have seen fit to change are grips, sights, springs, and magazines. Operates at a higher level than I do.
