Need help with Randall Serial number identification

    Hey Guys,

I'm hoping someone can help me with some serial number identification about my Randall. it's s/n doen't fit in the naming convention I've read on line. My thoughts are it's an early production piece before they decided on a naming convention, or at least, begin full production using their naming convention. The pistol is a Model-C. It does not have a letter as the first digit. The s/n is 02049B. So, what do you guys think? Early production? Something else? Thanks in advance!

BTW, the rubber grippers on the front I installed. Everything else is how I got it.

It would appear that yours was one of the very first made - they didn't have the "RF" followed by another letter (designated who made the frame) that the ATF required them to stamp to identify the manufacturer of the gun on the frame.
