I have an earlier RR 1911 - can't think of the "product" number/name. 5" .45ACP, with nothing special except dual safety levers and slightly more conventional sights. And a Pick (I can't spell it at 0500) rail on the bottom of the dust cover for a bayonet? (
)
It's very heavy, but shoots beautifully, and the weight eats up recoil. Makes it a tad more accurate for me (
), although the rail doesn't like any of my holsters. (Just a range gun.)
I did have to clean up the safety levers - nearly sharp enough to shave with - but I know how to do some of that.
Good choice for a "second line) weapon - nightstand, truck, etc. My EDC is a Para CCO - 3.5 barrel, Officer's sized frame, LDA. I also have an M&P40C, a full sized M&P40, and a .40Cal Shield. The two smaller ones are nice choices for EDC or at least deep concealment, but that's me.
Regards,
Stu.
