    SR 1911 9mm Target Model

New to me Ruger 9mm 1911 with a few added mod's. So far 100% function during several 100 rounds of break-in, very accurate. I think the .45's will be spending some time in the safe for the coming future. You owe yourself a treat, pick up a 9mm 1911!

Nice looking and fun to shoot, can not beat that combination. Ruger is making some nice 1911's, enjoy!

I bought one of the 10mm ones a couple years ago. Below with a Convertible Blackhawk in 10mm/40S&W. It sort of surprised me when Ruger kept the heavy barrel and FLGR in the 9mm target. I would guess almost no recoil in the 9mm.

Heavy, full-size 1911s in 9mm are a blast and a giggle to shoot... don't tell anyone.
Too many people miss the silver lining because they're expecting gold.

Agree with the thought they are fun to shoot. Actually I was late to the party. The first one I bought in early 2015 was a SA RO in 9mm to go with a SA RO in 45ACP I bought late in 2014.

I liked it enough that in 2017 I bought a Colt GCNM in 9mm to go with my 2015 GCNM in 45ACP.

I bought a very lightly used 9mm SA RO that’s an exact match for yours last week, and shot it for the first time at IDPA practice today. To say that it shot well is a major understatement!

I don’t like the looks of that large adjustable rear sight (I almost didn’t buy it because of that), but I didn’t use the sights today anyway. If I just can’t get past the aesthetics; I’ll replace it with one of John Harrison’s fixed replacement sights.

    It’s a heck of a gun for the $$!
