    My first and not last Colt is a 1980 Government series 70. Satin Nickel with the Cold rubber grips. Replaced with Hogue Redwoods.

    I had a Government model back in the early seventies. The grips appeared to be "sand blasted" smooth with finish applied. It had one of those collet bushings. Just a note, I have a gold-colored crayon-like stick that will apply that gold look to the lettering... I am sure that is what that Gold lettering is. It would rub-off after awhile and have to be replaced, a one-minute job.
