    Many of our members seem to like Wilson Combat 47D mags ... but I think that's generally for use with modern, hollow-point ammunition.

    I still prefer Check-Mate magazines. Check-Mate is one of the OEM magazine producers for Colt (and a great many other 1911 manufacturers), and they still offer (I believe) magazines in the original GI configuration. Yep ... here it is. SKU CM45-7-B-GI

    Check-Mate also sells magazines to the U.S. Government, although I don't know if that includes 1911 magazines. Given that the government is selling off their 1911s, I suspect not, but you never know.
