Picked up my first Randall yesterday, model A231. Has the original box but nothing else. Does anyone have a manual for it and would be willing to share an copy? Thanks.

It was essentially a milspec in SS - if you can take down a Colt, the Randall isn't a challenge.
If not, just download a manual on a 1911 take-down - you'll be fine. And congrats!
I saw that notch on the guide rod and was thinking that a special tool might be needed. It's unique and I was just being cautious. Did some searching online and have not found any article that explains its purpose. Thank you.
Ah - the notched guide rod! Forgot about that, sorry! As you pull the slide back, the barrel bushing passes through it, IIRC. Sorry - I haven't shot that one in a while!
Do you remember what purpose the notch serves? Here in Washington daylight comes long after I've departed for work and almost dark by the time I get home from work. My vision isn't as good as when I was younger so I'll wait till this weekend to disassemble it for cleaning when there is plenty of natural light. Thanks again for the info.
Read my previous post - IIRC, that's how you turn the barrel bushing to remove the slide.
