    I use standard 7 rd mags for looks. My safety works flawlessly.Grips are wood not plastic like ww2 but transition models actually had wood grips without the diamonds at screws of 1911. Early 1911A1 were blued as well. mine has no white dots on sights. I agree on the hammer but actually like it.
    real M1911 parts fit fine and all maint data from US Army is great.

    Yes, parts all are standard military 1911. These ATI guns are very nice shooters. Would love to see pics of yours.

    Some early M1911 pistols did actually have a short and wide hammer, fairly similar to what's on this pistol, in terms of size (a bit more rounded in the rear maybe). Those were very early M1911s though, not M1911A1s. I like it, it certainly doesn't look out of place on this nice gun.

    The sights are taller than GI spec but for most people that's a big plus.
    Too many people miss the silver lining because they're expecting gold.
