    Du-lite Colt?

I've seen many examples of 1911A1 pistols and I own LOTS. Came across a Colt in the 735k serial range inspected by Robert Sears. It looks to be one of the early parked pistols, but the park is very blueish, identical to my US&S pistols. Has anyone ever heard of Colt using Du-lite bluing on any of their early parked pistols?

    Welcome to the forum.

Colt used an oven bluing process before WWII and chemical blue after. Please post some photos of your collection.

Parko Lubrite, maybe. It doesn't look like DuLite to me.

The pics are a little greyer than it is, definite has a blue tint to it compared to my two other RS pistols. Thanks for looking at it, I’m wondering now if maybe it was polished slightly diff before bluing than the other two.

Surface finish looks more like parkerized to me also but the color does look different in these photos. Polished blue pistols of that era have a definite "grain" from the polishing steps.

I agree with Doran. Finish looks like standard Colt phosphate for that serial range.
A lot of people ruin old .45s by trying to improve them.
