    What is With the Crickets?

Are there that few Kimber Owners on Site or is everyone here simply so knowledgeable they never have a question or comment?

I've noticed the slow traffic on that forum as well. On Facebook there is a group "Kimber 1911 owners" that gets heavy traffic, more than I would wish.

As for me, i have just one Kimber, and Eclipse II. I replaced the FLGR, shortened the thumb safety to standard 1911 length, and am happy with the pistol. 5 months into it now, and zero problems.

Off topic - welcome to the group. Are you in California also?
    i sold all my handguns. . . . . . . . . . except for the 1911 style pistols in .45 ACP.

Im from Alabama just happened to get one of the last CDP II Compacts made for the general market (as opposed to CA).

The CDP II Compact is currently stock but I have a few parts I'm planning to install.

    1. Wilson Rubber Double Diamond Combat Grips
    2. Wilson Stainless Bulletproof GI Short Commander Guide Rod
    3. Wilson 20 lb Recoil Spring for 4" Guns
(Don't much care for the Officers Spring it comes with).
    4. Single Side Stock Safety
    (Don't care for extended ambi).

Congrats on the acquisition. thinking 94045 might have been your zip code I had to ask. I'm in Modesto, which is about 90 minutes south of Sacramento.

To change out the TS, you’re also going to need a standard hammer pin.

The Kimber right side ambi is held on by an extra long hammer pin with a “head” on the end that a dovetail on the back side of the safety engages with. BTDT.
