Hi everyone I'm new to this so here goes. I have a Series 70 Combat Government. I installed an ED Brown barrel and one piece spring guide and a new Wilson Extended slide release before going to a shoot. After 250 rounds I tore it down for cleaning. On the right side of the frame where the hole for the slide release pin protrudes the metal around the hole was slightly pushed outward like a punch would make driving it through a piece of metal. The metal is pushed up enough it is visible and its high enough to catch your fingernail on it. I never had this problem when I had the stock barrel and a Wilson spring guide buffer/dampener and my Safari Arms extended slide release. The Safari Arms slide release was not locking the slide after last round is why it was replaced. Now prior to that the pistol has probably at least 3,000 rounds through it with no problems. Has anyone else had this happen to their frame? I'm thinking taking the one piece guide rod out and putting the Wilson dampener back in. Also debating on cleaning up the right side of the frame and getting it hard chromed or sending the frame back to Colt for repair and refinish.
