    Springfield 1911, 5 digit serial #

    New here on this site. Helping a friend get information on his
    Springfield 1911, serial 75xxx.
    Was wondering what photos to take of this piece, and should
    we strip it down for photos of all the parts.
    Thanks for any help offered.

    That serial number places it in Springfield Armory's 1914 production range. Beyond that, anyone would need photos to tell you anything. What photos to take depends on what information you want. If you want to know if all the parts appear to be correct for the pistol, then take photos of the overall pistol and then take photos of all the parts.

    Hawkmoon is right, please try taking detailed pictures in natural lighting in the shade without flash, particularly of the markings, then post such photos and your questions will surely be answered by some of the knowledgeable folks here.
    Originality can't be restored, so put "originality" at the top of a priority list. If JMB didn't put it on the 1911 you don't need it.
