    T3 night sight longevity

I have a T3 bought in 2006. Its been a bit of a safe queen for the last couple of years, but recently emerged. I noticed that the Trijicon night sights are dead. I would have hoped they'd last

longer. What is your experience with longevity on the T3 night lights, including the Heine rear sight with the single lamp under the groove?

Well, the half-life of Tritium is about 12-13 years, so assuming the gun was new in 2006 and that the sight was sitting on a shelf for maybe a year before that, it's about due for replacement.
Too many people miss the silver lining because they're expecting gold.

I have a three inch 1911 with night sights that was purchased in ‘06, and the sights are pretty dim now. It was made in ‘05.
