If they say so, who are we to question them?
This has been a frequently-seen topic here in the forum for years. It's a never-ending discussion, centering on the precise meaning of 'to make' and one or two other verbs (like 'to machine'). To some, if someone machines the rails, the barrel seat, a few pin holes and some other details on the frame, they make the gun (a view BATFE broadly agrees with, apparently). To others, unless someone mines the iron ore the gun is made of, they can't say they're making the gun. For all makers the truth lies somewhere in between the two, for most I'd say it's substantially closer to the former rather than the latter.
Too many people miss the silver lining because they're expecting gold.
