Hi All...I've been checking this site out for a few weeks and decided to join. Although I'm just getting introduced to the 1911, am looking forward to interacting and learning from everyone. Over the past few years I have been shooting double-action and striker-fired handguns but had a long desire to get a 1911. After researching for many months decided to get a Dan Wesson PM9. PS..... the guns shoots great, alot better than I do!

Welcome from another subject of the S.R. of MD. The 1911 is one my favorites also, my regular range is up in Northern York Co. It's about an 80 minute drive for me but it's way better than shooting anywhere around here.

That is a strong commitment to commute almost 1.5 hrs for some shooting. I usually shoot at a range in the Harrisburg area, not to far from York.

From where I live I often drive 2 hours south to shoot at a premium range. Lots of places in MD **** for shooting

    Welcome to the forum.
We have a lot of good and knowledgeable people on this forum.
    You can't go wrong with a 1911
Originality can't be restored, so put "originality" at the top of a priority list. If JMB didn't put it on the 1911 you don't need it.
