1962 Remington Model 700 BDL for your viewing pleasure

I recently found and purchased an excellent condition 1962 700 BDL in caliber 30-06. This was the first year of the Remington 700 series. It appears to have been fired very little if any. I really like the excellent wood work/stock. The only problem is that the front sight hood is missing and the front sight is broken. But, I'm on the lookout for original parts (doubtful if they can be found) and I will also check with Remington for replacements.

BTW, for the first couple of years for the 700 series the 30-06 barrel was 20" in length. Also, when firing I will be using a recoil buffer to cover the original aluminum butt plate.

    Pedro 1,
Thank you for your suggestion of Numrich. I've seen 2 or 3 different heights for the front sight, but I don't know if it is year specific. So, I thought I would give Remington a shot (pun intended) and see what they say.

Nice rifle. Different front sight heights likely for zeroing with lighter/heavier bullets or different barrel lengths. If you intend to scope the rifle probably not much of an issue.
