    1911A1 Sights

Any of you guys with the old/pre ban 1911A1’s, have any luck with aftermarket sights? A couple of the big name smiths won’t go near the Norincos because of the hard steel. Looking for something I can see better for daylight range use, my 50yr old eyes ain’t helping nothing!

If you want something like what you have but taller, things might not be too hard. The rear sight isn't a problem. The front, assuming it's staked in place, can be replaced without machining the slide, provided you find one with the right mortise thickness.

Worse case scenario, you may need to enlarge that mortise hole slightly, which could mess up a drill bit, or three, but the cost is nothing like what a 'smith would charge to cut a dovetail.

With a larger 'series 80' mortise hole, you get options for Colt and similar 1911s, front and rear, that will be much easier to see.
Too many people miss the silver lining because they're expecting gold.

If you want originals, think I have an original set email me your address and I'll send them to you, please?
