    CZ97B bought one

I've been looking at possible non-1911 45's and soliciting input for the various possibilities. Finally found a 97B I could put my hands on and decided to strike while the iron was hot.

I know nothing about this pistol--I'm now strictly a 1911 and Hi Power guy, although in the past I've owned various Sigs, one of the earliest Glock 21's from the 1980's, etc., etc. Is it single action, double action, SA/DA? What is the trigger pull like being a pivoting type trigger?

The 97B is SA/DA. Some folks have places like Cajun Gun works mod them to SAO I do not have a problem with the SA trigger pull and find it to be smooth. It's been a while since I've used a High-P or CZ75 but I expect given your current taste in pistols you'd like this as well.

To me. this thing is about as smooth as butter when shooting.

Thank you for the information. Although I am familiar with CZ, I have had little experience with their pistols and rifles, especially in the past few years. Looks like a great pistol and I've heard excellent things about CZ. Back in the Y2K era I was living in the Kansas City area about the time that CZ-USA got started in the US. I knew several fellow shooters who spoke highly of their pistols.

Mauser, you will love it, while i've never shot a 97B it is essentially a big bore 75B. I have 2 of them, a 9 & a 40 they fit your hand like a glove & are very accurate. You might get the CZ virus like I did & end up with more CZ's, i'm at 4 now, They have many variations now, steel frame like yours, aluminum, & a poly frame & they're all excellent. Some are competition ready out of the box, my Tactical Sport trigger is just under 2 lbs out of the box.
    Enjoy it!
