    Refit time

I just picked up a PT1911SS in 45. It is ten years old and can use a lil sprucing up. I just ordered 3 new Checkmate stainless 8 round mags and a new Serpa holster.
Next I am thinking of a new recoil spring and night sights. What should I be looking for for these items?

Wolff makes good springs, at a minimum get the recoil and firing spring kit. Personally I would replace all the springs while doing a detail strip and clean. This way a person has a base line to work from.

Normally I would move a thread like this to the "Parts and Grips" discussion area. However, because I know from personal experience that Taurus 1911s don't always accept standard 1911 parts, we'll leave this discussion where it is. Springs should be standard, but be sure to check any new recoil spring for spring bind before shooting it.
