I like the older Springfields too. I have and carry a Springfield finished by Ted Yost when he was the gunsmith at Gunsite Training Center. It was called a Gunsite Service Pistol then. It has everything one needs on a 1911 and nothing it doesn't need.

At a quick glance it looks like a stock 1911 Government pistol but up close it shows the mods done to it.

    Cool Update!

So I come into a little money at Christmas, start thinking about how I'd LOVE better sights on both my Mil-Spec and my Loaded.

So I got a Wilson enhanced TRP slide & barrel off Gunbroker last week - Wilson ejector firing pin, spring, and Novak tritium sights (Orange front, green rear)!

    This ain't yer daddy's Mil-Spec anymore!

As for my Loaded, my local 'smitty talked me into trying some Trijicon night sights: mod. #600527, for reference. I got it done last week as well.

They're a little funky-shaped, compared to say, low-profile Novaks, but they're bright & easy enough to pick up - especially that front sight inside the orange bullseye!

Wait'll you see my OTHER new acquisition!
