Smith and Wesson 1911 SC E Series - two tone

Traded to acquire this 1911 SC. The Scandium alloy frame is surprisingly light. Doesn't even feel like it is metal. Smooth, fairly light trigger. Nice fit and finish.

I'm waiting for the mosquitoes to subside a bit before I take it out to shoot. More rain is on the way so I may have to wait longer than planned.

Took it out to the range today. The mosquitoes have subsided enough to give me some time to shoot before the next round of rain. 5 yds with Monarch brass cased ammo from Academy

I like it. If you send it to "dry" Arizona we would be glad to put some rounds through it.

Thanks for the offer Dave. I had the SC all boxed up to ship to you and then realized that it wouldn't be fair to your other guns. You'd like the SC so much that they would be out of a home.

Where did you get the grips for the upper pistol?

Those are the grips that come (came) on the pistol from the factory. The blue sort of turned me off but they feel great when I shoot it so I have left them on it.

I bought the gun used. The previous owner changed them. I am considering different.

Nice pistol, although I do not fancy all that machining. But it's a Commander length, so I like it.
