    US Army 1911 replacement testing

    I found this and haven’t seen it before. I found it interesting, and at the same time highly suspsect the military picked the most beat up of the 1911s for the testing. I’ve heard many times that the military uses beat up, poor condition, m4s when they compare them to say a 416 in testing. Unsure if true but interesting all the same.

    Link is a 64 page document that shows both the Air Force and the Army’s testing for the beretta and the Sig as well as the control, the .45.

    It was stated at the time that the DoD had some pristine 1911A1s squirreled away for comparison with prospective new models.
