    Greetings from South Africa

I have just bought my first 1911. (Now for the very long wait to get a license in South Africa up to 6 months) A budget Tisas Zig M 1911 .45 ACP. Why, because I don't have the R50 000 (South African Rand) for a Colt Gold Cup. Been shooting 9mm's for the last 36 years and yes this is my first ever 45. (I recently retired and bought my live long wish, the 1911) Hope to learn about 1911's here and how to custom my 1911 (copy of the Colt 80 made in Turkey). Which aftermarket parts to install like Ed Brown and Wilson Combat.

Wow, six months wait. My hat is off to you for waiting that long. Enjoy shooting. Glad to have you join us.

Welcome. Tisas makes a decent 1911, so get your pistol and enjoy it. We're here to help you spend more money on customizing it when you're ready.

Thank you now I feel welcome. Help spending money in $ lol. The USD and ZAR rate jumped to $1 = R14.42. I guess I have to wait now until the exchange rate is down again. In March this year the rate was R11.50.

    PS
Treasure your 2nd Amendment. In South Africa it is a privilege to own guns not a right.
