Olympic Arms - color case hardened 1911 and ultrasonic cleaning??

I have a beautiful Olympic Arms Westerner 1911 - I've been told by the manufacturer that the color case hardening was done with the old school heat and quench method - it's NOT just a surface coating - does anyone know if an ultrasonic cleaner would damage the color case hardening effect at all ? I'd be using Lyman Turbo Sonic Gun Lube and Turbo Sonic Steel Cleaner in the ultrasonic cleaner to clean and lube the gun. THANKS !

I don't know, but if the case coloring was done by the traditional method, then it is an integral part of the metal and I can't think of any reason why ultrasonic cleaning would affect it at all.

I too have an Olympic Arms Westerner. Olympic did not "seal" their CCH with anything so it would be safe to use an ultrasonic cleaner.

However, I also have a Standard Manufacturing LLC color case hardened pistol. It ha a glossy finish to it because it has been sealed with clear 2400 Series Gun Coat at the manufacturer. I would never run this pistol's parts through an ultrasonic cleaner with any type of detergent/solvent.
