    Para 1911 last round issue

    Para Expert 1911 .45ACP
Functioned fine but POI was WAY low to POA.
On recommendations ordered shorter barrel link, new WC bushing and what the an oversize mag release.
Now the last round chambers but you CANNOT press the trigger. Drop the mag (or reload fresh mag) and it will go bang when you press the trigger.
Can dry fire until the cows come home with empty mag.
Anyone have a clue what's going on?

First, a shorter barrel link may affect the POI, but that is not the proper way to adjust POI.

Does your trigger have an overtravel adjustment? An overtravel adjustment screw stops against the mag release. If you have an overtravel adjustment, the new mag release may have made the function of the overtravel adjustment very marginal. Try backing it off a bit.

Should also mention, the shorter link may have seriously compromised the upper lug engagement. It may or may not be still ok. It should be checked.

Reinstall the original bushing and the original slide stop, and try again.

    Report results.
