    Early Colt Commercial info request

    I have a chance to buy this Colt....I know Lugers,not Colts!!...Does this look to be original?....and is the barrel original to the gun?...Thank You

    Thats quite the first post!! Welcome to the Forum
    Looks good from here!
    The rear edge of the barrel hood should have a stamped letter C, and a 5 stamped on the bottom of the barrel forward of the link.
    Thats a stunner of a pistol!

    Thank You!....Here are more photos...there is a "P" stamped on top of the barrel and then the 2 "J's" on the lug....don't see anything else?..It is a beautiful old gun and I need to be sure all is ok before buying it!!

    I don't have access to my reference books at this time but I don't believe this barrel original to the pistol. Hard for me to tell from the photos, is the top of the chamber blue or polished steel?

    That indicates a replaced barrel. Commercial barrels that era have polished chamber tops.
