    Intuit (Quickbooks) backs down

I hope our members are all aware that, recently, Intuit's credit card processing arm suddenly and without notice stopped processing payments from customers to Gunsite Academy and to several other firearms-related companies. They didn't just stop accepting new payments -- they also held up thousands of dollars in payments that had already been made, preventing the companies from receiving payment for (in some cases) services or merchandise that had already been delivered.

Intuit found out that they had no idea how gun sales actually work. They are back-tracking ... big time.

This illustrates the danger of allowing "the media" to propagate lies. Intuit shut these companies down because they were "selling guns over the Internet." That's the myth that the gun-banners are spreading, and Intuit's management bought it. Then they found out that, in fact and as we all know, guns sold over the Internet are not shipped to the buyer, they go to a licensed FFL, who performs the required background check before handing the gun over to the buyer ... face-to-face.

Our job is to counter these lies whenever and wherever we can.

It would help if we some better allies in the news.

Fox news may be the closest thing we have, but even they fall short with some of the "experts" they have on, and even with their own team.

When arguing that large numbers of legally owned guns are used for self defense, they showed a woman holding a revolver, with her left hand wrapped around the front of the cylinder.

An "expert", arguing for AR-15 rifles, said the common bullet (5.56 or .223) used in those is smaller than a handgun bullet.

There's very little solid information. Mostly just posturing.
