Why would you need a slide? If Colt did the work, it ought to work OK... and with the paperwork explaining it all, why do anything to it (except shoot it)?
Too many people miss the silver lining because they're expecting gold.

I agree with Spyros. With that letter in hand, that slide is more "correct" than another replacement.

Interesting. I have a 2009 XSE LW Commander in 38 Super. It is in the middle below under a 2006 in 45ACP and above a 2015 in 9mm.

As I remember in 2010 the Colt XSE went away and there was a bicolor Talo model with a dark frame and SS slide which had a "beavertail" grip safety and not a "duckbill". I saw those in guns stores for years but never looked at one closely since I had the 2009 and my hand is O.K. with the "duckbill". Still that meant Colt probably had slides around like the one that found its way onto your pistol.

Nice - thanks much for the pict. I agree - the entire top of the gun is likely what the armorer had to pull from when the gun arrived (3/11/2014). The frame and everything in it wasn't touched. I'm seeing that the black aluminum trigger is factory on an "E" (Enhanced) versus the 3-hole on the XS/XSE (unless someone replaces it).
