    TRP magazines

I gave my son a couple of new MecGar mags for his TRP 1911, but he can’t insert them into his pistol. They work fine in his Ruger SR1911. Anyone ever heard of this happening? He’s in the People’s Republik of California, and I’m in Colorado, so I can’t inspect them myself.

I have had this happen a few times over the years but was never relegated to any particular brand of magazine. I have 5 MecGar mags and find them to be decent products.
At which point do they stop in the mag well? I assume that the mag release is the stopping point. If that is the case, do they insert when the release is depressed?

That’s what surprised me. Mec-Gar is my go-to mag for just about everything. Thanks for the suggestion, I should have thought of that.

UPDATE.... Just spoke with my son, and he said the mag release trick worked like a champ. Mags run fine.

    Thanks again.
