    Mating a Nelson 22 LR conversion with a Tisas pistol (a re-post)

I have owned a Nelson conversion for several years, switching it on and off my Springfield Range Officer. I decided I wanted a dedicated 1911 frame for this "upper". I chose an inexpensive Tisas and found I needed to make a simple and inexpensive modification (changing the mainspring) to make the conversion work reliably with CCI Standard Velocity ammo. You can read about this modification here >>> https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8b...ew?usp=sharing.

    Looks good.

I have the same problem with conversions: sooner or later they cry out to be made into dedicated, rimfire pistols. The problem then becomes where to find a receiver without spending a ton of money for a complete pistol.
