    Secure sites

    Gentlefolks,

I just want to inform you, that starting sometime today, all three of M1911.ORG sites will be secure (https instead of http).

Basically, you do not have to change anything in the way you access our sites, our servers will take care of that. They now will start a secure exchange with your browser, instead of a plain http one.

You can see that our pages are https, by looking at the address bar of your browser, after you have reached one of our sites. Depending on your browser, you will see a lock and the word "Secure", or just a lock. Until that change is made, you can see those locks by entering https://www.m1911.org in your browser address bar.

    Have fun browsing our sites.

Thanks John. For the last 6 weeks or so every time I tried to come to the forum Firefox has blocked it with a big red caution warning suggesting that I should "Get me out of here!" So I did. Glad you got the problem fixed. Seems to be working OK for me now on 3 different computers.

Six weeks?!?!!? Buddy, the red page only lasted for a day or two.

Anyway, it's all behind us now.

Two days, maximum. I use Firefox as my browser. And the warning didn't originate with Firefox, anyway -- it was generated by an extension to my Avast anti-virus.
