    Google Chrome blocking M1911.org sites

FYI, I just got a flag from Google Chrome warning that the M1911.org forums and home page were "dangerous sites". It warned that the sites might be trying to tempt users with phishing or try to get you to enter usernames, passwords, personal info, etc.

Any idea why its would do this today? (I was on yesterday, and didn't have any issues.)

Avast is doing it, too, in both Firefox and Internet Explorer. Google is up to their tricks again. John failed to sacrifice the requisite number of virgins to the gods of Silicone Valley.

It just happened to me when I tried to get on the site from my PC, so I switched to my phone.
I'm glad there's nothing to it.

Guys, please rest assured that M1911.ORG sites are perfectly clean. If I tell you what bothered Google and marked us as malicious you won't believe it.

In the Sponsors Panel near the top. I had a script which was changing the Brownell's advertising banner, once per day, so there was one banner on Monday, one on Tuesday etc. Well, that prompted Google to mark as malicious. After I removed the script, we got the green light again. Why that script bothered them, only God knows!

In the past decade, we used to joke saying that Internet Exploder was a virus. Well, this decade, it looks as if Google is the virus!

Also, please be informed that we are in the process of changing our sites from http to https, so that you are sure that whenever you connect to m1911.org sites, you are connecting to m1911.org sites and that they are secure.

Well, congratulations. Whatever you did, it made them happy. They are no longer flagging your site as dangerous.

Buh no, a polite email and some change in the code that was switching the banner, got us off the hook!
